The Genetic Resources Project is moving forward and making significant progress. In order to kick-start the project, the Cooperative recruited Mr. Jimmy Magro as Project Manager and Mr. Kyle Spiteri as Technical Manager.
The cooperative has issued four Calls for Quotations which have been awarded as follows:
CfQ/2024/001 – Root Stock and Nursery Management
(a) root stock awarded to Jardinland Ltd;
(b) nursery management awarded to Directorate of Agriculture;
CfQ/2024/002 – Educational and Awareness Campaign awarded to Outlook Cooperative Limited;
CfQ/2024/003 – Scientific Research awarded to the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics – Research Centre for Olive, Citrus and Fruit crops (CREA-OFA);
CfQ/2024/004 – Website Development awarded to AIRO Limited
The execution of these CfQ’s has also begun and the management team is coordinating the work with the appointed suppliers. We are very pleased that we have found a number of suppliers that are committed to the project and together are working hard to make a success of the Genetic Resources Project.
