The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Plant Protection Directorate, has registered the Bidni Cultivar in the national Gene Bank in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 433 of the Laws of Malta and formally records the description and characteristics of the variety in subject for its inclusion in Malta’s National Variety Catalogue.
This is a very important step in the right direction since now the Bidni Cultivar has officially been recognized as an indigenous olive tree.
